October Observances
October brings attention to issues and causes that impact many in our community. It’s Domestic Violence Prevention Month, reminding us to stand against abuse and support survivors. If you or someone you know needs help, reach out to the National Domestic Abuse Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. You can also find local help by clicking HERE. October celebrates Filipino American History Month, honoring the rich contributions of Filipino Americans, and LGBTQ History Month, which recognizes the achievements and struggles in the ongoing efforts for equality. October is also ADHD Awareness Month, aiming to increase understanding and reduce stigma, and Health Literacy Month, highlighting importance of understanding health information to make informed decisions for a healthier future.
