Young Professionals Committee of San Diego
YPC Mission: The Young Professionals Committee (YPC)’s mission is to empower young professionals in San Diego to make a meaningful impact in our community through philanthropy and mentorship. By leveraging our collective skills, networks, and resources, we aim to raise vital funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.
Since its inception in 2004, the YPC has raised well over $500,000 in funds to support BBBS of SDC mentoring programs. These funds are used to help find mentors for hundreds of children who have been on the waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister.
There are two ways to get involved with YPC: a seat on the Board or general membership.
YPC Board
- Commit to the mission of YPC & BBBS (not required to be a Big)
- Collectively accountable for raising $20,000 for BBBS in 2025
- Join the Matchmaker Society (small monthly donation to BBBS) – HERE
- $20 per month suggested donation
- Pro tip: Ask your place of work to cover or match your donation
- Attend 75% of scheduled Board Meetings (held 3rd Wednesday of the month at Optima Office – 5120 Shoreham Pl #285, San Diego, CA 92122)
- Sit on an Operational Committee:
- Events – Assisting in the coordination and success of YPC events
- Membership – Recruiting new members
- Marketing – Promoting YPC events via email and social media & supporting with monthly YPC newsletter
- Big Ambassador – Attending the BIG Ambassador events/meetings and liaising with BBBS Outreach team to recruit and appreciate Bigs
YPC General Member
- Welcome to attend monthly happy hours
- Encouraged to attend YPC and BBBS fundraising events
- Encouraged to become a Match Maker (small monthly donation to BBBS) – HERE
- $20 per month suggested donation

- Commit to taking an active role in the YPC & BBBS mission.
