Neighborhood Snapshot

Look what we are starting in your neighborhood…

Let’s put our children on the path to success.

For more than 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided one-to-one mentoring for children facing adversity in San Diego County. Our success has been defined by evidence-based outcomes, which demonstrate lifelong impacts and community benefits.

The Challenge.

The majority of the children waiting for a Big are boys, but only 3 out of every 10 inquiries to volunteer come from men. At the same time, a large portion of our inquiries come from areas where we have little to no children waiting, and due to travel times/cost of gas and other factors, matching people beyond a 20 mile radius is not recommended for a long-term match.

Are you ready to Start Something Big?

It’s our mission to decrease the number of children on our waiting list and we need YOUR help! We are targeting the following four areas of San Diego County which have the most children waiting: (View a list of zip codes to see what neighborhood listed below you live/work in).
