Frank Arrington Legacy Fund

Frank ArringtonFrank Arrington passionately served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County’s Board of Directors for more than 34 years, serving both as a Board Member and President. Frank was a long-time Big Brother to Scott, and continued that special mentoring friendship into his Little Brother’s adult life. Frank was the 1994 BBBS Person of the Year, and the first “Grand” Big, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County historian, multi-year chair of the Gourmet Dinner and a tireless advocate for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

He never missed the opportunity in any conversation to let his friends know that many deserving and vulnerable children wait too long for Big Brothers and Big Sisters due to organization funding needs. He made it his personal mission to help recruit new Big Brothers and Big Sisters, as well as secure additional financial support of the 1:1 mentoring programs to change the lives of more children in San Diego County.

To honor Frank’s incredible compassion for children, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego has established the Frank Arrington Legacy Fund, dedicated for the purpose of annually supporting up to 100 children from East County, where Frank grew up, and the Mid-City and South Bay areas of San Diego, where Frank concentrated much of his volunteer effort. The fund is a pool of long-term estate gifts and individual tribute gifts.

$1,550 supports one child for a full year with one to one mentoring and program support.
